Najibullah Zadran's unbeaten fifty helped Afghanistan register a comfortable 28-run victory against Zimbabwe in the ongoing tri-nation T20I series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.

With this win, Afghanistan stretched their winning streak to 12 matches in a row -- most by any teams in the format. The previous record was also held by Afghanistan when they won 11 matches at a stretch in between 2016 to 2017.

Zimbabwe could only manage 169 for seven while chasing a mammoth 197 for five posted by Afghanistan.

After being asked to bat, opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz gave Afghanistan a decent start before being dismissed for a quick-fire 24-ball 43 in the seventh over. It was however the 107-run fifth-wicket stand between Najibullah and Mohammad Nabi that helped Afghanistan post a challenging total. Nabi fell prey to Tendai Chatara in the final delivery of the innings, while Najibullah remained unbeaten for a magnificent 30-ball 69 that featured five boundaries and six maximums.

After the exchange, Regis Chakabva's unbeaten 22-ball 42 could only help Zimbabwe manage 169 for seven as they fell short on the day.
