Nazmul Hassan announces election panel

BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon has announced an unchanged election panel for the October 31 election at the BCB headquarters in Mirpur today.

Everyone affiliated with the process have collected their forms, the BCB president informed.

October 24 is the withdrawal date for the candidates. The election is likely to be settled without contest in regions except Dhaka and Barisal.

For Dhaka in category 1, out of two posts, Naimur Rahman Durjoy, who is part of Nazmul Hassan's panel is almost sure to be elected while there will be a contest between Sheikh Naim and Tanveer Ahmed Titu for the other post.

MA Awal Bulu, who is also part of the panel from Barisal division will contest Alamgir Khan.

Previously there were three directors from NSC but this time it has been reduced to two.

Since Nazmul Hassan has released an unchanged panel, there is unlikely to be any contest as there is no other opposition panel to challenge.

Category 2 (12-member) : IH Mallick, Manzur Kader, Afzalur Rahman Sinha, Enayet Hossain Siraj, Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan, Mahbub Anam, Jalal Yunus, Hanif Bhuiyan, Tanzil Chowdhury, Shawkat Aziz Rasel, Najib Ahmed, Gazi Golam Mortuza.
