Lunch delays play

After a shellacking of 126 runs in the first session, Bangladesh's players were unexpectedly given an extra 10 minutes to think about their poor bowling as the afternoon session was delayed because, of all things, the Tigers' food arrived late.

Bangladesh and South Africa have separate caterers, with the former being given Halal food. As play was delayed, commentator Neil Manthorp tweeted out the reason.

When contacted, the caterers said that while they were told by the organisers to set up at 11:00, the time printed on the menu was 12:30.

It all seems to have worked out for the best however, South Africa's openers made up for lost time by adding 27 runs in the first 20 minutes after lunch, and Bangladesh now have an excuse if they fail to make inroads into the opposition batting – they had to eat their lunch in a hurry.
