108.4, Aus 364/7 - Cummins covers drives Mehedi for four.

Another expensive one from Mustafizur - 13 runs came off the last over but he is getting some movement now.

107.5, Aus 358/7 - Another boundary- ball shapes into the left-hander but drifts too much down the leg side, Agar gflicks it for four.

107.4, Aus 354/7 - This time he punches through the cover. Classical shot from Agar. Four more.

107.1, Aus 350/7 - Short from Mustafizur - Ashton Agar dispatches it through mid on for four. Terrefic shot.

Bangladesh get two quick wickets including the vital one of Glenn Maxwell. The pitch has dried up and the spiners may get an added advantage.

106.2, Aus 346/7  - Mehedi to Maxwell - bat and pad - decision goes to the third umpire. It's out! That one took a sharper turn than usual and bounced off thee surface too.

Bangladesh need a wicket. While Maxwell is there Australia will look to achieve a healthy lead.

Australia lead by 34 runs. Batting has gotten easir in this surface but Bangladesh have also been let down by the dropped chances.

102.2, Aus 337/5 - Wade latches on to a short one and cuts it away for four square of backward point.

End of over 100

Bangladesh have stemmed the flow of  runs after the wicket of Cartwright.

The players return after lunch. Bangladesh ahve made some inroads since the fall of Handscomb at the start of the second session. Matthew Wade is the new batsman a the crease.

It's 3:30 pm and it's Tea on day three of the second Test between Australia and Bangladesh.

End of over 95( Aus 321/5, Maxwell 25 n.o)

94.6, Aus 321/5 - Mehedi makes Cartwright plan on the front foot and get the edge. Easy catch to first slip. Mehedi gets his revenge for the rib-smasher from Cartwright earlier.

93.5, Aus 318/4 -  Cartright hits it hard to Mominul at short leg. Mominul anguishes in pain as ball hits him on the thighs. Was not a catchable one.

93.3, Aus 318/4 - Six! Cartwright goes big and clears the fence over long on off Mehedi.

Mehedi seems okay. He comes in to bowl the final delivery of the over.

90.5, Aus 305/4 - Another catch dropped! Cartwright hits this one hard at bowler Mehedi Hasan. Mehedi can't keep the catch. Ball hits his rib area. Mehedi is down in pain.

88.5, Aus 303/4 -  Hilton Cartwright elegantly drives Taijul straight down the wicket for four. Boundary brings up Australia's 300.

Successful over from the Birthday boy. Mustafizur has been an instigator of energy in this session since coming on to bowl. Warner leaves for 123.

87.4, Aus 298/4 - Mustafizur Rahman the birthday boy gets the dangerous David Warner. Bangs it in short and Warner paddles it. Ball moves fast to Imrul Kayes at leg gully. He fumbles once..twice but then takes it.

DA Warner c Imrul Kayes b Mustafizur Rahman 123 (362m 234b 7x4 0x6) SR: 52.56

Mustafizur has been fiery in this spell. If it wasn't for poor fielding he would have had a wicket to his name by now.

86.5, Aus 297/3 - Warner cuts - takes the edge - too fast for first slip. Runs away for four.

Australia are 291 for three. They trail Bangladesh by 14 runs. 13 runs were conceeded off the last over. Australia playing freely now.

85.4, Aus 289/3 - In the air as Maxwell edges another one from Mustafizur. Goes through the gap in the slip cordon for four.

83.2, Aus 271/3 - Mustafizur to Maxwell - not again! Bangladesh drop another one. Mehidi is caught napping as Maxwell edges Mustafizur to the slip cordon. Ball shaped away nicely and made Maxwell play at it.

Mustafizur Rahman comes into the attack. He needs to make the batsman feel for the ball. Consistency in line and length a necessity to frustrate the Aussies on this track.

End of over 81 (Warner 105, Maxwell 8)

Another great innings from David Warner as he has now scored back-to-back centuries in this series. Warner has proven his mettle on turning tracks on this tour of Bangladesh. His sub-continent record has been a thorn on his side.

77.4, Aus 260/3  - Warner reaches his 20th ton. The low full toss from Nair is put away accordingly through the covers for four.

77.2 - Aus 256/3 - Warner not comfortbale here. Plays it down the ground and Nasir fields off his own bowling and quickly throws it back at wicketkeeper. Warner dives to get in.

76.5, Aus 254/3 - Maxwell is taking his chances and Shakib loops it up. Maxwell misses.

76.3, Aus 254/3 - Maxwell takes Shakib on. Goes over the top and ball races to the boundary straight down the ground.

Warner is taking his time to complete the ton. Does not want a mistake after Australia lost Handscomb through a run out. Back-to-back maidens from Bangladesh.

End of over 75 (Warner 99, Maxwell 0)

Glenn Maxwell is the new batsman at the crease.

73.2 , Aus 250/3 - Direct hit from Shakib Al Hasan at the bowler's end as Warner looked a bit eager to run the single. Handscomb was late to get back to his crease. Decision goes to the third umpire. It's out!

Warner is on 99 as Mushfiqur brings on Nasir Hossain.

72.3, Aus 250/2 - Warner eases Shakib through the cover for a single. That's 250 for Australia.

72.1, Aus 249/2 - Warner beaten again. This one from Shakib kept really low.

71.4, Aus 248/2 - The Australian duo have been rather nifty picking up the singles. Handscomb takes on the fielder at mid-off and runs a single. That's the 150-run partnership.

Handscomb has been very watchful this morning. He is watching the ball right onto his bat.

End of over 70 (Warner 95, Handscomb 81)

69.2, Aus 244/2 - Mehedi drops another one short. Warner pulls it to the onside. Ball doesn't quite run to the fence quickly enough. The batsmen run three.

Bangladesh need a breakthrough to get back into this game. The two batsmen have continued from where they left off yesterday.

67.3, Aus 239/2 - Short from Mehedi. Poor bowling. Handscomb gets enough time to get into the back foot and dispatch it through square leg.

The outfield looks pretty slow at the moment.

66.6, Aus 235/2 - Warner punches a Shakib delivery off the back foot square on the off side for two runs.

Mehedi Hasan Miraz has been introduced from the othe end.

End of over 65 (Warner 89, Handscomb 69)

64.1, Aus 225/2 - Shakib bowls the first ball of the day and Warner is beaten while trying to cut away through backward point.

It's 1:15pm and the players are out in the middle and Shakib Al Hasan prepares to bowl to David Warner.

The umpires have decided that play would resume on 1:15 pm local time. Good news for the fans and the cricketers. We have another 20 minutes to go.

It is 12.35 pm local time and the two umpires are out in the middle now as the covers have been removed. The light drizzle has stopped and the umpires are inspecting the outfield.

It is now 12:30 pm and it's already lunch on Day three of the second Test between Bangladesh and Australia at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

The rain has taken the form of light drizzle after heavy rain had earlier delayed the start of the third day's play in the second Test between Bangladesh and Australia and not a single ball has been bowled today.

It is still cloudy and the outfield is wet while the pitch has been covered up. The groundsmen are wondering around the pitch waiting for the drizzle to stop so that the covers can be removed.

Play will be possible once the rain stops and it looks like the outfield may not take too much time to dry up given the efficent draining.

Australia have faced 64 overs yesterday and were 225 for the loss of two wickets at close. Renshaw was the first batsman to go after he flicked Mustafizur to the leg side only for Mushfiqur Rahim to latch onto the catch with the Aussie score on just 5 runs.

Captain Steve Smith played a handy knock of 58 before Taijul Islam bowled him out on the first ball of the 29th over.

A third-wicket partnership between David Warner and Handscomb saw Australia glide past 200 before close of play on Day 2.

The partnership stands at 127 from 215 balls. David Warner is not out on 88 and Handscomb is on 69.

Welcome to our live updates of the third day of the second Test between Bangladesh and Australia at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
