‘Difficult to adjust’

Bangladesh cricketer Imrul Kayes suggests that it's difficult to adjust to batting at number three after having batted as an opener for most of his career.

With the inclusion of batsman Mominul Haque into the side, Tigers batting order may need tinkering.

However, Imrul suggests that batting at number three is not new to him and he is trying to adjust.

"I have batted at three during the Sri Lanka series and talked to the coach, who gave me the option and said 'bat at three'.

"I am preparing for the Tests at the net sessions while keeping this in mind. In fact at domestic level I have batted at three during certain matches.

"It's difficult…but I am having to adjust myself accordingly.

Tamim Iqbal and Imrul had created a successful opening combination for the Tigers in Test matches. Tamim Iqbal had previously opined that it's difficult for him to bat at three as he gets impatient about when he will come to bat.

"Yes, what Tamim said is right. When I am padded up, I get very eager and nervous about getting onto the pitch as well.

"I wasn't used to it but in some matches I have played at number three. It's a matter of what is better for the team and what the management feels is best – so that's why I have to play."
