The Bangladesh Cricket Board CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury informed that consultant Gary Kirsten is undertaking an 'internal audit' of the Tigers.

The former South African cricketer landed in Dhaka yesterday and will stay for a couple of days. The CEO spoke to reporters at Mirpur today and informed that Kirsten is doing a situation analysis of the Tigers squad. Gary Kirsten will consult BCB on which coaches Bangladesh can target after completing his assessment and finding out which areas need more work.

Kirsten met with Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Mushfiqur Rahim and opener Tamim Iqbal at Pan Pacific Sonargaon today to talk about various aspects of the team. He will also meet with the BCB CEO today as per reports.

"He is undertaking an internal audit. He is trying to sit with each player individually", Nizamuddin said.

"He is analyzing how to improve the squad and what aspects to work on ahead of ICC competitions such as the World Cup and the World T20. He will provide us with a report," he added.

The CEO informed that Kirsten is also planning to sit with officials working with the national squad, especially board directors and the selectors.

"Most importantly, Kirsten has expressed wishes to work with freedom and that is how he is working. We are just providing him with logistics support. He is fixing the timings for the meetings and contacting people he is required to meet," the CEO said.

Kirsten is working on coach appointment process as well.

"He is in talks with the coaches that we shortlisted. He will also be talking to the coaches that are on his list", Nizamuddin concluded.
