Soumya Sarkar has continued to show promise with the ball after he had bowled a crucial spell in the recently concluded Asia Cup tournament in UAE. The left-hander who bowls right-handed today clinched his second five-wicket haul in the first-class arena as he bagged the wickets of the last five batsmen of Rangpur Division at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.

Soumya had earlier contributed with the bat for Khulna on the first day, scoring a team-high 76 off 141 deliveries. In the second round of matches he also struck a ton against Rajshashi Division and has been in a good vein of form in the domestic circuit so far since his return from the Asia Cup. He was not included in the squad for the Tigers' upcoming home ODI series against Zimbabwe and in the meantime, it was a good opportunity to brush his skillsets in the domestic circuit.

He bagged the last two remaining Rangpur wickets off back-to-back deliveries which means he is on a hattrick and could bag one the next time he bowls during the match. He finished with figures of 5 for 61 from 24 overs.
