Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium to become fastest to host 100 ODIs

Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium (SNBCS) set to become the fastest to 100-ODI mark.

Established in 2006, Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, home to Bangladesh cricket team has hosted 98 ODIs with Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe the first ODI to be played at the venue back in December 8, 2006.

Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sydney Cricket Ground, Melbourne Cricket Ground, Harare Sports Club and Colombo's R.Premadasa Stadium are the other grounds which have hosted more than 100 ODIs. However, Sher-e-Bangla stadium, named after A.K Fazlul Huq will achieve the unique feat of hosting 100 ODIs in the fastest time.

Bangladesh's match against Zimbabwe, the tri-nation series opener to be played tomorrow will be the 99th ODI at the venue while the match between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe will see SNBCS hit century mark.
