Bangladesh T20 squad for the India tour, led by Mahmudullah Riyad, departed for India today from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka. The team was scheduled to board the flight at 3:00pm.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had announced a revised T20 squad for the tour yesterday and named Mahmudullah as the captain after International Cricket Council (ICC) banned premier all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for two years, with one of them suspended, as the 32-year old all-rounder accepted three charges of him breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.

Mahmudullah said that he will be trying his best as a captain.

"I will try my best to fulfill my duty as a captain. I will try to give my best when I get on the pitch donning the Bangladesh team jersey. Yes, they [India]  are a very good team. But if we can give our best as a team and make the small chances count then it is possible [to do something good].

"We all know how big a player he [Shakib] is and how important he is to the team. He might have made a mistake but he did not commit any crime. He has all of our support. We all love Shakib and we will continue to do that." said Mahmudullah to the media before leaving at the Dhaka airport today.

Bangladesh will be playing a three-match T20I series against India, starting from November 3.
