Karthik's last ball six wins it for India
Once again the chasing side wins the match as Dinesh Karthik hits the last ball for six to give India the final.
India needed 34 from two overs but Karthik took the game by storm as he hit two fours and two sixes off the 19th over bowled by Rubel Hossain -- an over which saw India pick up 22 runs. The last over was bowled by Soumya Sarkar and India needed a further 12 runs for victory. The game went right down to the wire when Shankar hit a four off the fourth delivery as India needed a further 5 runs from two deliveries. With five needed off two balls, Soumya, who bowled the final over, got Shankar's scalp but Karthik had gone to the striker's end and he hit the last ball for six.
Earlier, Tigers found hope when Rohit Sharma finally fell trying to hit Nazmul Islam only to be holed out at long on as India lost their fourth wicket. Sharma left after a 42-ball 56.
India reach 84/3 after 10 overs, need 83 more
India reached 84 for the loss of three wickets after 10 overs in their chase of Tigers' 166.
Rohit Sharma was in fantastic touch, looking to take the game away from the Tigers. Sharma is unbeaten on 48 from 33 balls. KL Rahul was the third India wicket to fall after he top-edged Rubel Hossain in the 10th over. Earlier, Rubel had removed Suresh Raina for naught in the fourth over to pick up his first wicket as Tigers had made a good start with the ball. Shakib Al Hasan took the scalp of Shikhar Dhawan in the third over.
Sabbir takes Tigers to 166
Sabbir Rahman struck a 50-ball 77 before Mehedi Miraz's gutsy little cameo took the Tigers to 166 for the loss of eight wickets.
The right-hander struck seven fours and four sixes in his innings but was also culpable for running out Mahmudullah Riyad, who was ball-watching as Sabbir ran to the striker's end.
Captain Shakib Al Hasan also ran himself out as a sharp piece of work from Shankar, who gathered a fierce throw around his ankles and then took the bails off in one swift motion.
Miraz picked up 18 runs off the last over of the match to allow Tigers to reach 166 after India had threatened to restrict the Tigers to 150.
Tigers 72/4 after 11 overs in final
Tigers have lost four top order batsmen with Mushfiqur Rahim the latest to go being Yuzvendra Chahal in the final of the Nidahas Trophy.
Mushfiqur tried to slash it away through the offside but slices it instead. Mahmudullah Riyad is the new batsman at the crease as Tigers reached 72 for the loss of four wickets after 11 overs. Earlier, Liton Das was the first wicket to go, the right hander also falling to Chahal in the fourth over. Tamim Iqbal tried to hit straight but was holed out at long-off as to give Chahal his second wicket. Sabbir Rahman is unbeaten on a 27-ball 30. India have saved a lot of boundaries with some electric fielding.
Toss
India won the all-important toss and have elected to field first against Bangladesh in the final of the Nidahas Trophy.
The Tigers' squad remains unchanged from their last match against Sri Lanka. Jaydev Unadkat has replaced Mohammed Siraj in the India playing eleven for this final.
Tigers set foot into the final buoyed by their epic victory in the do-or-die match against Sri Lanka -- a win which ensured that Tigers final berth. The toss was always likely to be a key component in this match as the conditions have favoured sides that batted second. There was a chance for evening showers to interrupt play but the sky remains cloudless for now.
It is a big match and Tigers have never beaten India in a T20 format and Tigers are also expecting to be fifth time lucky in their endeavour to win a final.
