Adam Lyth, who was Yorkshire’s leading run-scorer in this summer’s NatWest T20 Blast with 535 runs, includinga record-breaking 161 against Northamptonshire at Emerald Headingley, joins BPL outfit Rangpur Riders.

The opener is joining the same team which already ensured the services of Brendon McCullum and Chris Gayle.

“I’ll be picking their brains every day if possible,” Lyth said.

“I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a new challenge, meeting new people and playing for a new team.

“There’s some fantastic players in our team, and I’ll be looking to learn as much as I can and play a few games.

“It’s my first experience of something like this, so it will be really interesting to see how different it is to our competition at home.

“We’ve got some fantastic players in our team, both locals and overseas, so it will be tough to get in the team. But hopefully I can do and enjoy some success both as a team and individually.”

Lyth will come across Yorkshire teammate Liam Plunkett , who is set to feature for Sylhet Sixers in the upcoming BPL.

“I spoke to Liam a few days ago and we had a laugh and joke about it all,” Lyth added.

“It will be nice to face him and get one over on him!”
