60pc tickets for sale
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed yesterday that around 60 per cent of the tickets for the upcoming ODI tri-series involving hosts Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe and the two-Test and two-T20I series against Sri Lanka will be up for sale.
"We have to keep complimentary tickets for sponsors and other dignitaries, so around 60 per cent of the tickets will be up for sale," informed BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury during a press conference yesterday where ticket prices were revealed for the upcoming international matches.
The question was raised as it has become a common scenario during home series or tournaments that fans struggle to get tickets from the few allotted for them, while many seats are left empty during matches due to the huge numbers of complimentary tickets.
Tickets will be available online at Shohoz.com from January 13 for the tri-series and will also be sold at physical locations before and on match days at Mirpur booths. No banks will be associated with ticket sales and 30 to 40 per cent of the tickets will be sold at Shohoz.com.
Proof of identity will be required for online ticket purchases. Documents such as national ID cards, passports or driving licenses can be used (College students can use their ID cards). A phone number will also be needed to purchase tickets. A maximum of three tickets can be purchased per mobile number or ID.
