Diya wins gold in ISSF

Diya Siddique won gold in the recurve women’s event at the 3rd ISSF International Solidarity Archery Championships to see Bangladesh secure gold at two events in the tournament.

Diya faced Iranian archer, Shojamehr Shiva, who reached the final by defeating India's Bari Komalika in a tiebreaker after the match finished in a 5-5 deadlock. Diya won the final by 6-4 set points.

Earlier, Bangladesh won their first gold in the tournament, beating India by 229-225 in compound women's team event in Tongi today.

Bangladesh have dominated proceedings in the previous two editions of the tournament. In the first edition, Bangladesh won six gold, one silver and two bronze medals before following up with five golds, five silvers and one bonze in the second edition of the tournament.
