Asian Games 2018: Fun Run today

Asian Games Fun Run will be held in the capital today in a bid to promote and raise awareness about the upcoming 18th Asian Games, which will be held in Jakarta-Palembang, Indonesia from August 18 to September 2, 2018.

With association of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the 18th Asian Games Organising Committee, Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) has arranged the Fun Run where sportsmen, sports organisers and students of Physical Institutes will run.

The run will start from the Bangladesh Football Federation House in Motijheel and end at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

Ahead of the Games, the OCA has planned to the run in 28 countries, which is also expected to give the national Olympic councils an opportunity to develop their own awareness programme for their athletes.

Bangladesh is the second country to hold the run after Pakistan hosted it on December 7. 

“The Fun Run is a kind of message for Asian Games that the OCA wants to convey to all participating countries. As part of this endeavour, they are holding the event in Dhaka. A delegation of OCA is here to help us organise the event,” BOA's deputy secretary general Ashikur Rahman Miku said at a press conference yesterday.
