Army dominate Day One

The Army Shooting Association dominated the first day of the Priyoprangon National Shooting Championship, winning three gold medals in six events at the National Shooting Complex in Gulshan yesterday. Dhaka Rifle Club, Bangladesh Navy and Chittagong Metropolitan Shooting Club won a gold apiece.

Jakia Sultana Tumpa of Dhaka Rifle Club won the gold medal in women's 10m air rifle event, beating Sharmin Akter Ratna to silver and Syeda Atkiya Hasan Disha to bronze medal. Sharmin Akter of Bangladesh Navy won gold in the junior section of the same event.

Army's Helal I Ahad won gold in men's 50m prone shooting while Mojammel Hossain of Chittagong Metropolitan Shooting Club won gold in the event's junior section.

Sheikh Shahadat Ahmed of Army won gold in men's 25m standard pistol event where Sabbir Alamin of the same association won gold in the junior section.
