The third season of The Daily Star Spelling Bee, hosted by champs21.com and powered by Horlicks, will start airing on Channel i from tomorrow, said organisers at a press conference in the capital yesterday.
The show will be aired every Wednesday and Thursday at 7:50pm. The press conference was held in The Daily Star centre.
"This year the number of episodes has been increased from 31 to 36 to accommodate the appreciation expressed by parents and teachers," said Russell T Ahmed, chief executive officer of Champs21.com, a pioneering online education provider.
Speakers revealed that 96 students have been selected for the TV round. This year's season was launched with the motto "Spelling is now a game".
Students from 1,600 schools across the country participated in the competition hoping to win this year's prizes -- a trip to Washington DC and an education policy of Tk 5 lakh.
In addition, the students who will score the highest in each episode up to 30 episodes will be able to delegate libraries to thirty rural schools, to be provided by BSRM.
"The audience too can try their hand in spelling the difficult vocabulary words via an Android application called Spell Champs to win exciting prizes," said Russell.
