After having been featured on Dhaka Electronica Scene's (DES) “Explorations” and Akaliko Records' “Melankoli”, Dhaka-based solo electronic project, Space/Ghost is back with his new single “Kimosabe”. The track stands alone with its unique pulsating vibe amidst the horde of bass-heavy, experimental and fusion tracks that DES' reserve holds.
Excuse me if I sound like a fangirl, but this track is heavily reminiscent of Daft Punk's French grooves paired with the metallic zing of robots and techno noises to create music, and there's no way to not love a track done right in that style. Effusive and groovy, the song is fluid as it builds up with retro synths. Robot voices chime in with lags and reverberations, adding to the groove throughout. There's nothing messy, anarchic or dystopian about it; in fact, it retains sombreness and a median as its pulsating rhythms marry softer, louder, heavier and even distorted sounds and beats gradually.
This is one of those tracks which can let you put your glowsticks, LEDs and disco balls to use as you jam to it in your pajamas, wearing glass bowls on your heads.
