Sirajganj-3 by-polls Dec 23

The by-election to the Sirajganj-3 constituency will be held on December 23, the Election Commission announced today.
The last dates of filing nomination and its withdrawal are November 20 and 30 correspondingly, while nominations' scrutiny will be held on November 22.
The decision came at a meeting of commissioners at the EC Secretariat today.
Regional election officer of Rajshahi zone will act as returning officer, while Sirajganj district election officer and Tarash upazila election officer will perform duties as assistant returning officers.
The total number of voters are 3,31,336 in the constituency that comprises of two upazilas--Raiganj and Tarash. There will be 695 polling stations there, EC sources said.
The constituency fell vacant following the death of its lawmaker Ishaq Hossain Talukder on October 6.
