Singer Nancy 'tries to commit suicide'

Popular singer Nazmun Monira Nancy allegedly attempted to commit suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills in her father's Netrakona town residence yesterday.
In a critical condition, she was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Nancy's husband Jahed Hossain of Mymensingh town first took her to Netrakona Adhunik Sadar Hospital around 7:00pm, said Residential Medical Officer Dr Nilothpol Talukder. As her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to MMCH, he said.
Netrakona Sadar police Officer-in-Charge Md Masudul Alam said family feud might have led to the suicide attempt. Jahed, however, declined to comment on the issue.
Dr ANM Fazlul Haque Pathan at MMCH said Nancy was taken to the ICU at 10:30pm and was being transferred to a Dhaka hospital at 1:45am as her condition deteriorated.
