BANGLA TV SHOW REVIEW

BRISTIDER BARI

Plot: The members of a family are all affected by the apparent arrival of Bristi, who had disappeared from her family 15 years ago when she was 12 years old.

Review: In the wake of struggling Bangla dramas and local channel weekly serials, some of the brightest stars in the industry teams together to create what they hope will be a revolutionary show: Bristider Bari. But has their desire and hard work blossomed into something as grand as they had hoped? Honestly, it's a bit too soon to tell. Bristider Bari offers a quite interesting take in storyline as it looks into a family coping with the absence and the soon arrival of an individual whom they haven't seen for 15 years. Yet, each deal with the news in different ways. Significant emphasis is given even to background characters, and the storytelling ensures that the show can be interpreted differently from the perspectives of each character. The variety in characterization and steady character development truly makes Bristider Bari a very promising serial to be hooked into. But that's not all this show has.

It's clear to see that the producers of Bristider Bari had a bigger intention in mind when making the serial. It's unlike the typical love-ridden stories of usual Bangla serials, and it's certainly not anything like telefilms which focus on one-time plot development. Bristider Bari utilizes a steady plot progression to build each character, and manages to bring out both the positive and negative qualities of them. Above all, the prime focus of the story is Bristi, a character who is shrouded with mystery, despite never really being there. This creates some entertaining suspense when the arrival of Bristi comes close, thus bringing in drastic changes in the household. Bristider Bari may seem quite unusual at first, but the brilliant casting and slowly deepening plot is sure to make you stay for the ride.
