The Wolf Bags the Gold

After 22 years of being a film actor, with roles as iconic as Jack Dawson in "Titanic", Romeo in "Romeo & Juliet", Danny Archer in "Blood Diamond", Frank Wheeler in "Revolutionary Road" and Jay Gatsby in "The Great Gatsby", Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio can finally be referred to as an "Oscar-winning" actor. It was a moment that will undoubtedly last a lifetime for the actor, after being deemed Oscar-worthy by his fans and peers alike, at least for the last 20 years.

From fictional roles as Dom Cobb in Christopher Nolan's "Inception" to real life ones as J. Edgar Hoover in Clint Eastwood's "J. Edgar", the actor has contributed to numerous monumental roles in Hollywood's recent past. Nominated for a total of six Academy Awards, five for acting and one for producing, industry insiders bet their lucky dimes that 2013 would be his year with his brilliant portrayal of Jordan Belfort in Scorsese's biographical black comedy "The Wolf of Wall Street". However, his efforts were overshadowed by Matthew McConaughey's portrayal of Ron Woodroof in "Dallas Buyer's Club."

Thankfully, Leap Day 2016 will remain a memorable day for Leo as he finally received the all important statuette as the Best Actor for the year 2015 for his role of Hugh Glass in Alejandro Iñárritu's "The Revenant." To the joy of millions of DiCaprio fans worldwide, his Wikipedia page finally says "and in 2016, won the Academy Award for Best Actor for The Revenant," and the Showbiz Team would also like to chime in and congratulate him on his well deserved win and laud his advocacy towards taking action against climate-change in the acceptance speech.
