Did You Know: In the movie, the horse that drew Dorothy and her friends through the Emerald City was coated in orange, yellow, red, green, blue and purple gelatin powder in order to get the correct colour effect on camera. During the filming, Judy Garland wore several pairs of the ruby red slippers. One of the pairs was on display in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, at a museum honouring the actor. However, it was stolen and recovered after a thirteen-year manhunt with no arrest.

Did You Know: The song, Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya was made by spending ten million rupees. The reverberation of the song was achieved by having the lengendary singer, Lata Mangeshkar, sing the song in a studio bathroom. Madhubala’s chain in which she was roped in was heavy, for which all the expressions that she gave were in pain, and the chains also left her bruised and bedridden for days.

Did You Know: The movie used several monumental and patriotic songs, such as Amar Bhaiyer Rokte Rangano, Karar Oi Louho Kopat and now Bangladesh’s National Anthem, Amar Sonar Bangla. Amar Sonar Bangla was first used in this movie before even getting considered as the future anthem of Bangladesh. It was through the role of Faruk portrayed by Nayak Raj Razzak in the film, which brought him significant fame.
