AMIN KHAN
Noted actor Amin Khan is one of the dear faces in the showbiz industry. With a career spanning over two decades, the actor has worked in about two hundred films and television shows. In 1993, he did his debut film, ‘Obuj Duti Mon’, but it was his performance in the 1996 film, ‘Soitan Manush’ that got him recognition. This week, in an interview with Star Showbiz, the actor talked about his passion for acting and his desire to do better.
HERO IN REALITY
In 1990, I stepped foot into the world of show business through a talent hunt, Notun Mukher Shondhane, organised by the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC). I won the category of Best Hero, and I have not looked back ever since. I still continue to work hard, and I believe that I still have more to accomplish.
FOLLOWING DREAMS
To work for movies was like a dream for me. However, I was never too enthusiastic about it. Then one day, my uncle saw the advertisement for the talent hunt, and pushed me to apply for it. It was only his encouragement and strength that got me this far. My parents, friends and relatives have also motivated me a lot along the course of time. All of them played a significant role in my life, and helped me grow, both as an actor and human being.
FAMILY PRIORITY
I love spending time with my family. The most important thing for me is to spend quality time with my children. So, whenever I have free time, I give it to them. Besides, I also like watching movies, gardening and interior designing.
PERSONAL PREFERENCES
Change is an inevitable part of life. With the fast moving world around us, it is normal for our taste and likings for certain things or people to change. When I was a child, I really liked the acting of Nayak Raj Razzak. But with time and maturity, I started to like the acting of Sohel Rana. During my school days, I remember watching all of his movies along with my friends at the cinema hall. I even used to collect his photos and posters from newspapers and magazines. Besides, I must add actor Bobita in my list of favourites. I believe she was born to be an actor, and I love her charismatic style of work.
MAN OF HONOUR
Since my childhood, I always wanted to do something for the welfare of the society. I wanted to serve others by helping them in their time of need. And to do so, my dream was to become a police officer.
UNFULFILLMENT
Fulfilled desires can destroy a man’s will to work harder. However, there will always be a lingering sense of unfulfillment, no matter what we do. One must always have the thirst to do better, even if they have the highest accolades or achievements. I believe there is no stopping to do greater things in life, and as an artist, I believe I can do better.
MEMOIRS
My career is filled with many joyful memories. I still remember an occurrence that happened while I was shooting for a movie in Dinajpur. We were doing a fighting sequence, which involved the villain to shoot me and throw me off a valley. Everything was ready, and as the director yelled action, we went on with the scene. As I was tumbling down the valley, a fan of mine came running to my rescue. He thought it was real, and as a concerned person, he rushed to save me. Our shot was ruined because of him, and we needed to retake the entire sequence. Everyone thought he did it deliberately, and was very angry at him. But, I handled the situation and we continued our work. This particular moment fills my heart with gratitude for my fans. The amount of love I received from my fans are beyond measure, and I always cherish them.
