Why is celebrity news so attractive in the western worlds? It's because along with publishing facts, they also publish unconfirmed rumors or gossips. Sounds silly when you think about it but the readers love it. People are more concerned with celebrity love life and gossips than their own daily events. I guess, by reading about them, they get to escape the normality of civilian life. If we come back to our own media industry, I am saddened to say that we cannot fully emulate that kind of success here. This is because our own media industry is very hush hush regarding certain matters, thinking it might harm their career or image. They forget that people want to know more about them. One particular matter they keep absolute silence about is their romantic lives.
