Pritom Hasan

Affectionately called the “Jadukor” of the industry, he was born to make music. Proving time after time that his success from 'Local Bus' was not a fluke, he has evolved and matured as a music director with countless subsequent hits. Star Showbiz had an honest chat with “Viral Bhai” himself, Pritom Hasan!

Tell us about your current projects. Do you plan to direct music for movies?

I am currently working on a single called "Rajkumar". I am done making the song and shooting for the music video as well. I am sure that the audience will like it very much. As for movies, I like working out of the box. Hence, I will not be interested in them unless the director is very flexible and the project is to my liking.

What inspired you to become a music director?

I was always into music, but what inspired me to actually become a music director is the monotony of the music industry around 2010. I felt that I needed to bring something new to the table, and I have been trying to do that for the majority of my career. Perhaps that has been the mantra behind the type of music that I do.

Who are your favorite musicians in Bangladesh?

It would have to be the likes of Tahsan, Habib, Balam, Adit and Minar. They are brilliant artists and have paved the way for us to continue doing music our way. I have been lucky enough to be in touch and share my ideas and thoughts with them, and they have, in turn, helped me grow as a musician. It is a blessing indeed.

Describe yourself in one word.

Aquarius. I chose that word because it describes nearly everything about me: Over-thinking, unpredictable, stubborn and so on.

What would you like to change about yourself, given the chance?

To be honest, I love myself the way I am. However, I would want to make myself emotionally stronger. Even though it does take time for me to open up to someone, I tend to be prone to being hurt when I do.

What can we expect from you in the future? Do you ever plan to venture in to acting?

Funny you should mention that. There is a huge surprise coming towards you on Valentine's Day, and I won't spoil it for you right now. Musically, I would like to continue towards the path that I am going. I am thankful for the fans and all their support.
