A CHAT WITH SWARNA

Sanzida Chowdhury Swarna is a singer and a television anchor. Always positive and brimming with life, she looks to balance her anchoring and musical career along with her corporate life. She talks to Star Showbiz about her aspirations.

Since when did you get into anchoring?

This was very sudden actually. I used to host events for my club at BRAC University so many knew that I could do anchoring.  One fine morning I got a call from a friend who wanted me to host "The Developers Conference" at Digital World 2015 at BICC. That was my first serious anchoring event, and then I got in touch with more people and eventually got the chance to host my first TV show "Science Rocks BD" in Channel I from May 2016.

Tell us about your musical career as of yet.

Singing is a passion of mine. I have completed a certificate course from Chhayanaut as well. Lately I have released my first official music video titled as "Meghneel". My co-singer was Amid Hossain Chowdhury from Bangladeshi Idol. The song was composed by the renowned Sajid Sarkar and the famous duo Shokh-Niloy were in the music video. I am working on my future projects at the moment.

Describe Swarna in one word.

Exuberant.

Tell us about your future plans.

Currently I am focusing on building my career in the corporate sector besides anchoring Science Rocks and other live shows. I graduated from BRAC University and am now working in IDLC Finance Limited. Along with these, I am working on my next song and planning for a music video.

How hard is it to do all these at the same time? Can you invest enough time in all of them?

I would say it's not that hard because I love all the things I do. If you have passion for anything, it will never be hard for you. So I can manage everything all together quite well Alhamdulillah. But yeah, no weekend anymore!

Would you ever branch out into acting if given the opportunity?

Yes I would love to! But I would still like to stay focused on anchoring as of now.
