Recently, in an interview, the All I Want For Christmas is You singer shared intimate details about her personal life. The interview also contained her thoughts on her first marriage with music executive, Tommy Mottola, who is twenty years older than her. She said that she was in a very 'controlling' marriage then. She further added, "There was a conscious effort to keep me as this all-American, whatever that means, girl. It was very controlled. There was no freedom for me as a human being. It was almost like being a prisoner." The couple split up after eight years of marriage, after which, Mottola condoned their relationship as "wrong and inappropriate".
