Broken Shards of the Happily Ever After

The 2006 Disney movie High School Musical stars Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron, had won many hearts with their real-life romance in front of the camera. The two fell head over heels for each other while shooting for the TV film, and had been together for many years. The couple shot three installments of the film and parted ways in 2010, two years after the third installment was premiered. Now nine years after breakup with former beau Zac Efron, Hudgens, recently opened up about their relationship and why it didn't work out. In a recent interview, Hudgens said, "(The relationship) started off really organically, and I could not have been more grateful to have that relationship at the time … (The movie) was this massive phenomenon all of a sudden and all eyes were on me … I had someone to lean on who was going through it as well." Regarding their split, Hudgens said that the relationship went sour because Efron started receiving attention from other women which irked her, "Girls were running after him, and I was giving them death stares. Then I realised that's not what that's about." Hudgens is currently in a relationship with actor Austin Butler, while Efron is rumored to be dating Olympic swimmer Sarah Bro.
