Goodbye Captain Sparrow

After 14 years of playing the lovable pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp has been dropped from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Screenwriter of the original Pirates of the Caribbean film, Stuart Beattie told Daily Mail TV, "I think he's had a great run. Obviously he's made that character his own and it's become the thing that he's most famous for now. It's been great for him and it's been great for us." This news came after stories broke out about Disney planning to reboot the franchise. It has been reported that the studio wants to bring in Deadpool writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to write the script for the reboot.
