Martin's 'The Ice Dragon' coming to life

It's good news for George R. R. Martin fans across the world, as the prominent wordsmith starts work on his debut animation film. It has been informed to be a self-titled adaptation of his fantasy novel The Ice Dragon. Martin is collaborating with Warner Bros. Animation Group to execute this new grand project.

The original novel published back in 1980 got an updated re-release a few years ago. The mythical plot basically revolves around the life of young Adara who befriends a stone-cold dragon. Sketched in medieval settings, there are tantalizing battles of fire-breathing creatures with brave warriors bestriding them. It is a chronicle of friendships, warfare and foreboding prophecies – pretty much everything that followers would expect from Martin.

Although The Ice Dragon reminds one of Viserion from Game of Thrones, the author has confirmed that the animation movie will have no correlation with HBO's most successful show ever. Martin's manager Vince Gerardis has been appointed as the assistant producer for the animation film, with Martin acting as the producer. Warner Animation chiefs Allison Abbate and Chris Leahy are supervising the studio works.
