Locarno to Honour Adrien Brody

The 70th Locarno Festival will pay tribute to Academy Award-winning actor Adrien Brody. The American star will receive the "Leopard Club Award" for 2017. Adrien Brody is one the most brilliant figures in American film, winning an Academy Award at the age of 29. Since playing the composer Wladyslaw Szpilman in The Pianist (2002), he has been appreciated for his talent everywhere. He debuted as an actor when he was just a teenager and has been both popular and critically acclaimed in his career of 30 years. He has worked with great directors from Coppola to Wes Anderson, from Malick to Soderbergh. Locarno's salute to Adrien Brody will include a screening of the film The Pianist and a meeting of the actor with the festival public. Brody will receive the tribute of the Piazza Grande audience and the Locarno Festival on Friday 4th August.
