Akshay Kumar wasn't considered an 'actor'!

Akshay Kumar recently won the National Award for his performance in "Airlift". However, the actor conversely claimed that earlier in his career, he was always approached for action movies and not serious roles that required intense acting. He also admitted that the reason behind this was his stunts. "When I came to this industry, my first words were that I am a stuntman first, then an actor. For nearly 10 years, I only did action," said Akshay.

In the 90s Akshay only did action movies from which he gradually shifted to romantic comedies in the 2000s, and then finally, serious social dramas in the latest movies. However, the ever-humble actor didn't forget to thank all his stuntmen and went as far as to claim that he is here today because of them. He also talked about how stuntmen deserve more respect than they are given. Seems like Akshay still hasn't forgotten his struggling days!
