Roshan

What was people's reaction after the release of 'Rokto'?

To be honest, I was really nervous because it was my first film. There was not any particular preparation on my side before doing this film, and it was hyped up even before release. Since its release, I have received a lot of love from the audience. When everyone saw the film, my anxiety was gone completely. People who don't know me are congratulating me, and I have been praised in different reviews. I feel that as a debutant, I am getting more praise than I actually deserve.

Did you feel that the film was more focused on Pori Moni?

That was due to Jaaz's marketing. As I was the debutant, they felt that it was the right move. But many have also said that it was truly Roshan's film, and I would say that we were equally important in it. When it comes to scenes, I have more appearances than her.

Could you tell us how you got into cinema?

I worked in the fashion industry, but not professionally. I got the opportunity to work with big production houses like Aarong and Cat's Eye. As this is probably how I got noticed from there, I got two film offers. One of them imposed that I can't work in fashion anymore, so I sacked the project. I've got a lot of film offers since then, but I was adamant that I would only work with the best so I accepted Jaaz's offer. From there I met Abdul Aziz sir, and he liked me at first sight. Zakir Hossain Raju sir and Suman bhai were also there. They said that I'll do well if I'm groomed.

How long were you groomed?

For about 10 days. Even though it was not enough time, we somehow managed to put out a good product.

Tell us about your first experience in front of the camera.

The first shooting day was in Kolkata, and the first scene was an action sequence. The scene consisted of me running with Pori Moni. Tears came to my eyes, as I realized that I am starring in a film. I greeted and gave 'Salam' to everyone on the set before filming the scene.

How did the romantic scenes with Pori Moni feel like?

All the romantic and emotional scenes in the films were well received. Pori Moni is a very helpful person, and very cooperative as well. During a very close scene, she told me to not worry about it as it is just a film.

What are your upcoming projects?

I am still contractually bound to Jaaz. A film called "Dhat Terik" is scheduled to start production in January. The film stars Kolkata's Shubhasree along with our Arefin Shuvo and Nusrat Faria. The script is fabulous, and the audience will love this film.

Who gave you the most encouragement in acting?

My elder sister and my father. My family is very open minded, so they never discouraged me from following my dreams.

How was the experience seeing yourself in the silver screen?

I can't tell you how amazing it was. It was only me wherever I saw, so seeing myself as the protagonist of the film was just fabulous.
