Stars Framed in the Celebrating Life Photo-book Launch

Many of Bangladesh's top-tier media personalities were spotted at the Daily Star Centre for Celebrating Life's biennial Photo-book launch. Celebrating Life is The Daily Star and Standard Chartered Bank's joint initiative to find and crown the country's finest photographers, lyricists and filmmakers. The photo-book launch took place on 16th April, 2018. This event takes place every two years, and consists of the best photographs (winning entries and exhibits) from the two iterations of Celebrating Life that take place during this time period.

The event was hosted by prominent Nazrul singer Sadya Afreen Mallick. Naser Ezaz Bijoy, The CEO of Standard Chartered Bangladesh expressed his happiness and content at the endeavor that Celebrating Life had been putting for the past eleven years. He also went on to note that Standard Chartered Bank, being the oldest bank in Bangladesh are always keen on promoting art, culture and a plethora of other activities throughout its rich history. The CEO was accompanied by his wife, Tahsin Farzana. The Editor of The Daily Star, Mahfuz Anam presented his address, expressing his gratitude to all the respected guests for being present in the event.



The chief guest of the event was Professor Emeritus, Mr. Anisuzzaman of the University of Dhaka. After his speech, the photo-book was unveiled by the honorable guests which included hon'ble Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman, Nasir Ejaz Bijoy (CEO, Standard Chartered Bangladesh), Bitopi Das Chowdhury (Head of Corporate Affairs, Standard Chartered Bangladesh), Mohammad Rafiquzzaman, Rafiqul Alam, Abida Sultana along with The Daily Star's Editor. The ceremony was graced by a stellar performance by Band Lalon, followed by dinner. Prominent celebrity guests included the likes of Babita, Farooque, Suchanda,  Jyotika Jyoti, Bappy, Shahidul Alam Sachchu, Salma,  Oyshee among others.
