'Doob' debate
Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's production presented us with Doob which has been in controversy. Actress Rokeya Prachi had stated previously that the story behind Doob has been in regard to the life story of Humayun Ahmed. However the production team has repeatedly denied of any of such statements and stated that the story is not in regard to any specific figure's personal life story. Only time can unveil the true insights. The Star cast includes Irfan Khan from Bollywood, Tisha and Parno Mittra. There are chances of the movie being released the following year.
Aynabaji Startles
The first film of Amitabh Reza, Aynabaji, has seen immense success this year. Along with regular film audiences, new ones joined the bandwagon to aid to the success of the film. A star-studded cast of Chanchal Chowdhury, Nabila, Partho Barua and Gousul Alam Shaon among others also aided in making the film a super hit. Aynabaji was released in association of telecom company Robi. However it was leaked online within the first week of the release and that saw a lot of controversy between the telecom and the producers of the film.
Hide & seek with Apu Biswas
The popular actress has recently been in the news a lot, initiated by her disappearance. She has been absent for eight months and no one in the media seemed to know about her whereabouts. She has been much talked about too, regarding her marriage with actor Shakib Khan and her child. However nothing of sorts have been proven yet. One thing is for certain, Bangladeshi cinema is surely missing Apu Biswas.
LRB turns twenty-five
This year marks the twenty- fifth year or the "Silver Jubilee" that LRB has been in the music scene and presenting us with melodies of lifetimes. With generations romanticising their songs, LRB has even gifted us yet again with the 'Twenty Five Years Celebration concert'. This is a new milestone in Bangladeshi music. LRB has been a staple band for Bangladesh for many years with hits like "Shei Tumi", "Ghumonto Shohore" and many others.

From burning the ramps, Jannatul Peya has been featured in the present year in the Star Showbiz, due to coming under the light of Vogue Magazine has seen immense popularity. Models from twenty countries have been featured in the magazine among which Peya was mention worthy. It is an immense honour for a model of Bangladesh to represent the country on the international stage.
