Shonkhodhoni Wins Grant from Berlin World Cinema Fund

Kamar Ahmed Simon has been awarded by Berlinale Film Festival with its premium grant, the World Cinema Fund (WCF). The grant has been given to Kamar for his upcoming feature "Shonkhodhoni". 

The feature has been written and directed by Kamar Ahmed Simon and produced by Sara Afreen. "Shonkhodhoni" was among the top ten scripts that were invited in La Fabrique Cinema Du Monde Cannes 2014. The event is an exclusive platform for developing talented upcoming directors from around the world. 

The World Cinema Fund is one of the top prestigious and competitive grants of world cinema, promoting promising filmmakers in regions where cinema is not prevalent. 

Shonkhodhoni" was also awarded the National Film Grant of Bangladesh government recently.
