'Haldaa' sweeps SAARC Film Festival 2018!

Since its release in December 1 last year, Haldaa has been making its mark in the Bangladeshi film industry by not only being a unique film in itself, but also being an innovative thought-provoker. At the 8th annual SAARC Film Festival, held from May 22 to 27, 2018 in Sri Lanka, Haldaa solidified its already established name by winning a grand total of four awards. Most notably, it won the Best Feature Film Award, the most prestigious accolade of the international award ceremony. While being named the best film of the year is an achievement on its own, Haldaa managed to grab the awards in three other categories as well: Best Original Score, Best Editor and Best Cinematographer. It goes without saying that the director Tauquir Ahmed exuded with joy at this monumental achievement. Aside from Tauquir being personally awarded the Best Feature Film Award, the other awards were given to: Music composers Pinto Ghosh, Sanzida Mahmood Nandita and Tauquir Ahmed himself; Editor Amit Debnath and Cinematographer Enamul Sohel. This truly was a memorable sign of growth for Bangladeshi films.
