Tamalika Leaves Acting for America

Actor Tamalika Karmakar has attracted a lot of attention for her various dramas. She has also acted in numerous movies. The last movie she was seen in was Humayun Ahmed's Gheto Putro Komola, and her last onstage performance was on July 18 of this year. She performed with Aronnok Natto Dol, and did the popular performance Rarang, on their 180th rendition of the performance. Now, she has taken a leave from all sorts of acting as she announced that she is moving to America for good. People close to her stated that she was not getting roles in dramas.

She was suffering from the lack of acting offers.  She was having trouble meeting her basic expenses, so she decided to move to America. She left the country on July 21. Before leaving, she posted a picture on Facebook. Her fellow actors wished her luck. Tamalika has shaken many stages throughout her lengthy career. She played Shyamoli in Rarang, Krishna in Moyur Shingho and Radha in Bidyashagor. She received the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2002 for her performances in Kittonkhola.
