Aref Syed to make his international debut

Aref Syed will be making his Hollywood-Bollywood debut in Rahsaan Noor's feature film "Curse of the Kohinoor". The movie will also include Indian actresses Tarini Pal and Vritika Rahmani. The film revolves around a maidservant who teams up with a bandit to save the Kohinoor from an evil cult. The production for the film is slated to begin in September of 2016. The deal is said to be the richest by any Bangladeshi actor in a Hindi film.

The actor/entrepreneur has been involved in many ventures previously. His short films "The Guest" and "The Professionals" have been screened at international film festivals including the Cannes-Court Metrage, Raindance and Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival among many other prestigious festivals. Syed has made a name for himself as an emerging young Bengali actor. In April 2016, he was awarded the prestigious Meril-Prothom Alo Award 2015 for Best Actor- Critics' Choice for his performance in Morshedul Islam's film "Anil Bagchir Ekdin". He has also been involved in theatre works mainly in New York, Venice and Dhaka. The multi-talented star has also acted in the Dhaka production of Sharbari Ahmed's Broadway hit "Raisins Not Virgins".
