Behind The Scene

NEW KID ON THE BLOCK

Some songs gradually permeate into the minds of the audience and Tanjib Sarwar's "Dil Amar" is no exception to that. From his second solo album "Meghboron", he came up with "Dil Amar" on Valentine's Day this year and so far, it has performed surprisingly well, especially with the music video out on YouTube with 1.2 million views so far. He has been well received by the television channels as well, with this single ranking high on the charts of the leading TV channels. Foraying into the scene back in 2011 with his first solo album "Andarmahal", he says he has always been inspired by the people around him singing praises of his talent while he practiced the songs with his friends at afternoon hangouts in local tea stalls. Funnily, the audience at large first thought of him as a model for the music videos, however that confusion is a thing of the past now thanks to his new hits.

Meticulous about practice and learning, he's a disciple of the great M A Mannan and draws much of his inspiration from Yanni and A R Rahman     as he writes and composes many of his works. He also tries to explore the works of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and says that he can be found throughout many of this works, as he tries to do something new and different by fusing classical themes with western influences. James, Nagar Baul, Ark and Warfaze are among his favourite local bands. He has been taking a break from making albums or singing for commercials at the moment, focusing on learning the piano with Rommel Ali. He has, however, been working on a single, featuring two other artists, and hopes to spend his life in the arena of music, discovering the various fields and being appreciated among his fans.
