Anti-Corruption Commission has asked former Health Minister AFM Ruhal Haque to submit documents containing the sources of his wealth before it within seven days.

The ACC came up with the order after interrogating Haque and his son Ziaul Haque at its Segunbagicha office in the capital, Pranab Bhattacharya, public relation officer of ACC told The Daily Star.

A team of the ACC led by its Deputy Director Mirza Zahidul Islam quizzed Haque and his son for two and a half hours since 11:00am.

The duo was summoned to the ACC today for interrogation in connection with 'accumulating' a huge amount of wealth during a short period.

The anti-graft body has decided to interrogate Haque and his son based on the wealth statement submitted to the Election Commission last year.

The interrogation move against him came after the ACC on January 22 launched probes into corruption allegations against five former ministers and lawmakers including Haque and two incumbent MPs.

The ACC took the initiative against the seven persons based on media reports that said their wealth had increased a memorable amount during the last tenure of the ruling party.

The six others are: Awami League lawmaker Abdul Rahman Bodi, former state minister for water resources Mahbubur Rahman, former state minister for housing and public affairs Abdul Mannan Khan, incumbent lawmaker Aslamul Haque (Mirpur) and former MPs Enamul Haque and Abdul Zabbar.
