Where are our video games?

Riot Games, the creators of League of Legends, recently recorded a USD 2.1 billion revenue figure for the year 2017. That is an absurd amount of money for an industry most people don't take seriously. As we chase after startups that have head-scratching revenue models, a question we have to ask is where does Bangladesh see itself in the global video gaming industry?  The global market as of now is around a USD 100 billion in size and growing. Recently, we have made forays into gaming but most of them were mobile based and rather underwhelming in terms of design. Unfortunately, while we are busy going after meaningless achievements like being the first in the region, the world moves at breakneck speed leaving us far behind. Now is the time to seriously think about gaming as a tech industry for the future.
