SHOUT HOTSHOTS: GAMEWEEK 8
The “nightmare” named international break is over and Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers are all but charged up to embrace newer ecstasies and heartaches, caused by their fantasy buys.
Here are eleven players who I believe will repay your faith should you include them in your squad for Gameweek 8.
Claudio Bravo has kept only one clean sheet in five games, but Manchester City will be keen to bounce back from the Tottenham Hotspurs defeat against Everton in front of their own fans.
Laurent Koscielny has already scored twice and kept three clean sheets this season and with a favourable fixture in the coming weeks, the Frenchman is a “must have” now.
Although Virgil van Dijkis yet to score this season, Southampton host Burnley on the back of three straight clean sheets. At 5.4m, a player of his calibre, who is likely to fetch returns at both ends of the ground, is a steal.
Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker has already got two assists and four clean sheets to his name, and there is no way we can avoid him, although he is playing West Brom away this week.
Arsenal play a Swansea side that have conceded at least twice in five of their seven games this season and Gunners duo Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott look certain to continue their red hot form. Especially the prospect of the latter is worth mentioning, the 7.7m midfielder has already notched three goals and three assists, much to the surprise of many. Well to be honest, more surprises look on the way.
South Korean midfielder Heung-Min Son is probably the revelation of the season this far, scoring two braces in four games besides providing two assists. In the absence of Harry Kane, the in-form Spurs side will heavily rely on his attacking intents, much like the managers who have him in their team.
Much of Hull’s joys have been credited to Robert Snodgrass and the Scotsman will have to continue his form if the Tigers are to get something from the away game against Bournemouth.
Sergio Aguero is an automatic choice, no matter if he plays home or away. Although Everton have not conceded more than once so far this season, the game will be played at the Etihad and very few will have the heart not to pick him.
Christian Benteke is fresh from scoring the quickest goal in FIFA World Cup history, and it will be a wonder if he fails to shine against a West Ham side that have conceded at least three times in four of their seven games.
Charlie Austin could not find the back of the net against champions Leicester last week, but he did score in the two games prior to that. It is a home game and Austin may also snatch the responsibility to take penalties from DusanTadic.
