Speakers advocate for social change at TEDxGulshan

The much anticipated TEDxGulshan took place recently at RAOWA Convention Centre, Dhaka, with the theme "Innovation Enabling Social Change".

The event was inaugurated by President and Curator of TEDxGulshan Ashfaq Zaman CPA followed by speeches from Syed Tamjid-ur-Rahman, Vice President, UN Global Compact Bangladesh & Vice President, Bangladesh Centre for Fourth Industrial Revolution; Bobby Hajjaj, Oxford Scholar & Faculty, and an international TEDx speaker; and Major Mohommed Ali Shah, Indian Army veteran and Bollywood actor. Afterwards, Adviser to PM Salman F. Rahman took to the stage and talked about the world of freelancing and how it emerged in Bangladesh.

Later on, speeches were delivered by Zara Mahbub, Country Director & CEO, Kazi IT Centre Ltd.; Dr. Yasmeen Haque, Professor, Dept. of Physics, Shahjalal University of Science & Technology; Maliha M. Quadir, Founder & Managing Director, Shohoz; Niaz Rahim, Group Director, Rahimafrooz Bangladesh Ltd.; and Anir Chowdhury, Policy Advisor, a2i, PMO.

Other speakers included Ayman Sadiq, CEO, 10 Minute School; Dr. Katherine Li, Director, Office of External Affairs, North South University; Mahir Ali Khan, Vice Chairman, Rupayan Group; Sausan Khan Moyeen, Enchanted Events & Prints; and Bibi Russell, Bibi Productions Fashion for Development.  The event came to a close with a vote of thanks and closing remarks by the curator Ashfaq Zaman.
