A noble initiative by CIDER

CIDER International School, Chittagong has taken the responsibility for the education of the children of the members of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police family who died due to Covid-19.

GC Tripathi, Principal, CIDER International School, handed over documents in this regard to Md. Mahabubur Rahman, BPM, PPM , Commissioner, Chittagong Metropolitan Police, at the Chittagong Metropolitan Police Lines Headquarters, Dampara on July 21, 2020.

During this pandemic the role of each member of Chittagong Metropolitan Police is undeniable. In addition to providing overall security of life and property of the people, each and every member of the CMP has performed a unique humanitarian duty out of a sense of humanity. Many policemen of CMP have died while performing this humanitarian duty. To pay homage to them during this coronavirus crisis, CIDER International School is willing to arrange free education in the National Curriculum for the five children of the deceased police members for their entire school lives. CIDER International School will take care of these five students with all their teaching materials and everything necessary for their education.

Principal GC Tripathi said in this regard, "To respect the sacrifice of the deceased policemen due to Covid-19, CIDER has decided to provide free education to their children . This is a little effort that we have done from our end, hope this will help the families."

While thanking to CIDER authority Md. Mahabubur Rahman, Commisioner, Chittagong Metropolitan Police, BPM, PPM said, "We are very much delighted that CIDER authority has been kind enough to support the families of the policemen who died due to Covid-19. The children of these families will be benefitted and we will be inspired for this contribution."

Additional Commissioner of Police (Administration and Finance) Amena Begum, BPM-Service; Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations) Shyamal Kumar Nath; Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Md. Amir Zafar and other senior police officials were present on the occasion. The proposal was coordinated by Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Division) Bijoy Basak, BPM, PPM (Bar).
