Gregorian English Language Club hosts 3rd National English Carnival

The Gregorian English Language Club hosted the 3rd National English Carnival presented by NRB Bank Ltd. on March 13-14, 2020. Around 3000 students from 34 institutions and three cadet colleges attended the carnival. On the opening day, eminent writer Junaidul Haque adorned the programme as the chief guest while Mohammad Golam Nakib, Senior Vice-President and Head of Retail Banking, NRB Bank Ltd., and Md Tajdin Hassan, Head of Marketing, The Daily Star, were present as the special guests with Brother Nirmol Francis Gomes CSC, Vice Principal as the chairperson. The special guests spoke highly of the arrangement and encouraged participants to carry on their endeavour of being true to themselves.

Participants were very excited to take part in the events including the English Olympiad, Word Play, Spell Bee, Treasure Hunt, etc. Students were categorised according to their class: Junior Group (Class VI - VIII), Secondary Group (Class IX - X), and Higher Secondary Group (Class XI - XII).  The prize giving ceremony was held on March 14 where A. D. Md. Abdur Rob, Joint Director (Retd.), Prime Minister's Office, and Mamoon Mahmood Shah, Additional Managing Director, NRB Bank Ltd. were present as special guests. Jony Saha, Moderator of Gregorian English Language Club, expressed his heart felt gratitude to the title sponsor NRB Bank Ltd. and also to their media partner ATN Bangla, newspaper partner The Daily Star, online partner Torun and Radio Carnival, radio partner Radio 71, food partner BD Food, and Burger Barrista.
