BRACU inaugurates IEEE Computer Society

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Student Branch of BRAC University (BRACU) officially inaugurated their Computer Society chapter on June 9, 2019, at its Mohakhali campus. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Mohammad Kaykobad, Professor (CSE), BUET, as the chief guest. Besides, chairpersons of the EEE and CSE department, along with faculty members of the CSE department were also present at the event.

The event began with the arrival of the guests, faculty members, and students as a brief cake-cutting ceremony went underway to celebrate the occasion. This was then followed by a seminar on the “Success stories of Bangladeshi CS Students” presented by Dr. Kaykobad. Being one of the greatest minds in the field of computer science in Bangladesh, Dr. Kaykobad had a lot to share. His insights on the present and possible future scenarios of the prospect of computer science in Bangladesh helped the students grasp onto a better understanding of the field. This was then followed by an interactive session where he tested the critical and logical thinking of the members and students present at the event.

The inauguration event was brought to an end by presenting a crest to Dr. Kaykobad as a token of gratitude from the Student Branch and the newly formed Computer Society.
