Music Albums to Look Forward to in 2017

2017 is shaping up to be an exciting year for music. Many iconic bands seem to be on the verge of releasing new material in the coming months, including a lot of bands that have left us waiting at the edge of our seats for ages. Here is a list of bands that will be releasing their works in 2017, some of which are yet to be announced.

Drake, More Life (To be announced)

Celebrating Drake's birthday last month, the record label OVO Sound announced the title of his upcoming album More Life, where they announced three new songs namely Fake Love, Sneakin, and Two Birds, One Stone.  Drake was rumoured to release this album within December. Although any more material from More Life wasn't introduced since then, we can expect this album to take its full shape within 2017, making this his second official release after the incredibly successful Views.

Coldplay, Kaleidoscope EP (To be announced)

After fuelling rumours that the band will stop recording new songs after their seventh album release, in a surprise twitter post on November 2016, Coldplay announced that they're working on new songs that will be released within 2017 called the Kaleidoscope EP. So far, no other Kaleidescope details (release date, track list, etc.) are known, apart from the fact its name comes from an interlude track on the 2015 album. Here's to hoping Martin will experiment to great lengths with this album.

Ed Sheeran

After the releasing the largely successful album, X, in 2014, Ed Sheeran has hinted about releasing new songs at the beginning of 2017 and rightly so, he's kept his promise. On a video post released on Facebook on Sunday, Ed announced that his new works are to be released on the 6th.

The Gorrilaz (To be announced)

The gang is back after six years, gearing up for giving us new material after the last album The Fall released back in 2010. Details about the new album are sketchy, but band members Noodles, Murdoc, 2D and Russel are definitely up to something. The band's social media account has been firing up by giving us hints and teasers on the new album but the members are adamant on keeping their mouths shut. Fingers crossed for now.

Eminem, Success (To be announced)

Eminem's highly anticipated album was expected to come out in 2016 but it seems it's happening in 2017 and we're excited. The Rap God's new album was accidentally leaked and it showcased 21 songs in total with amazing line-ups comprising of his work with Adele, Kendrick Lamar and J Cole. Although the "leaked" copy of the album doesn't show collaboration from Skylar Grey, Snoop Dogg and Dr.Dre, we know that they are probably doing something special. We can also expect a tribute song dedicated to his late best friend.

System of a Down (To be announced)

In a November interview, drummer John Dolmayan said that they've been working on a new album for the last six months and there are about 15 songs that they think are album-worthy. Although a release date hasn't been confirmed yet, we can anticipate big things due to the latest teasers of their jamming sessions from the band's page. The band has also claimed that this album will be completely different from their previous work

Other bands such as The Killers, Fleetwood Mac, Queens of the Stone Age have also announced releases for 2017. No doubt this year will be an exciting one for music.
