Baby in the house!

After years of being the youngest of your clan, there comes a time when you're not the youngest anymore. Initially, it can be a bit overwhelming that a tiny human being is now your brand new relative. The prospect of being an older cousin, aunt, or uncle can be somewhat intimidating, but trust me when I say this—the feeling doesn't last too long.

From being the person who used to get annoyed at the babies crying in random public places, you turn into a person who tries to hold a crying baby and settle it down. With each day you learn something new which can either be how to walk silently without waking the baby up or how to control your urge to tell the baby to shut up when it cries incessantly.

You expect the baby to do something, and all it does is nap through half the day and eat and poop through the other half, but does it make them any less cute to you? Nope. Even if you're a person who doesn't like being around kids, you'll learn to talk in silly voices to them, something you used to make fun of before. You'll also see yourself comparing the baby with other babies and reach the conclusion that no other baby is as cute as your cousin, nephew, or niece.

Be sure that at least half of your friends unfollowed or muted your posts on social media because they got tired of watching the same baby doing the same thing over and over again. They can't understand why you find a baby doing the silliest of things so fascinating and have a tendency to run away whenever they see you in ten-mile radius or go offline because they know it's going to be another video of a baby trying to walk or talking gibberish. The rest half who still patiently watch (or tap) and coos at the all of your 32 Instagram and Facebook stories are your true best friends.

Nothing else compares to the feeling that comes along with seeing your family members struggling through it and then meeting the new baby for the first time. But trust me, the feeling only lasts till the baby throws up or pees on your dress!
