Awkward situations you don't want to be found in

Circumstances will often get you into awkward situations you never wanted to be in. At times, it's not just the awkward moments that bother you, it's the people around you who witness the awkwardness unfolding that makes you question your very existence at those particular moments.

Spit or swallow situation: Biting on to a piece of elachi will instantly make you lose your appetite. Whenever you come to taste this mysterious spice in your mouth, you are most likely to spit it out without giving it a second thought. But would you be willing to do the same when you're at a public place, like a wedding? There will be guests all around you, indulged in formal dining as you decide whether to gulp it down or to throw it out. Finally, to save yourself from the humiliation, you decide to devour that piece of elachi believing that if you put your mouth to it, there is nothing that cannot be swallowed.

Caught ditching: You ditched the after class hangout session with your friends because you had some important business to take care of or probably because you weren't feeling that well. With those vague lies, you've managed to ditch countless chill sessions with your mates. Usually, you'd get away with it. However, one fateful day, as you ditch them yet again and go off to be with your other friends or your better half, they end up discovering your so called important business, making things awkward for you the next time you attempt to get away from them.

Opposite gender scenario: This happens when you're with a friend from the opposite gender. At first, it's all normal and casual till an elderly person who you may or may not know, finds you together. Usually, if you're seen with someone from the opposite gender, these elderly personalities will assume that you're doing 'prem-pirit' with one another. Oh, and if this elderly person is an aunty who knows you, be sure that she will be on the phone with your mother and will invite herself to your wedding.

When your greetings go unnoticed: We've all been in this situation at some point in life where we wave or say 'hi' to a friend only to be ignored by him or her either willingly or by mistake. These situations are quite common, but when you're with a group of friends your greetings to someone else goes unnoticed, that's when things get awkward. It's as if you've been slightly humiliated in front of your friends and you lose a few points in your social value metric.
